About Des Myers

International Road Safety Specialist

Des Myers receiving an award in PolandDes Myers was a member of the Victoria Police (Australia), with over twenty six years of operational and specialist policing experience focusing on traffic law enforcement and change management projects. He attained the rank of Chief Inspector.

Since leaving the police service in 1999, he has provided road safety consultancy services in Australia, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ethiopia, South Africa, Botswana, the Middle East, India, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos PDR, Vietnam and Thailand. He is a recognized international road safety specialist with a broad range of experience in all aspects of road safety enforcement management, technology and training including World Bank, WHO and other international road safety projects.

The projects undertaken involved the management of diverse cultural, political and financial interest groups ranging from police, government and health to the insurance sector, large corporate fleet operators and the community. His exposure to and interaction with these diverse and different groups has enhanced his highly developed analytical, negotiating and training skills. He is an experienced law enforcement workshop designer and facilitator.

facilitatorHe is currently advising various Companies and Governments in SE Asia on a range of road/public safety and security projects and is a traffic law enforcement trainer with the RS10 project (Road Safety in 10 countries) with his focus countries being India, Turkey and Russia.
